Dr. Sidi Mohamed Dhaker is a Central banker, an International development specialist, and Professor of management and economics. He is also an engaged pan-African young leader. He has a keen interest in Africa’s economic development, financial inclusion, and youth leadership.
An Award-winning Young Leader, his engagement at the level of the continent during the last decade got him awarded several honors and awards and he was part of several the prestigious ranking especially the “Choiseul 100 Africa” ranking Africa’s Economic Leaders for Tomorrow.
He is actually Senior Executive at the Central Bank of Mauritania where he worked for the last 12 years and held several positions ranging from Special Advisor to the Governor, Director General of Economic Studies, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Director of Communications to Director of Strategy. Before joining the central bank, he was Director of Design, Monitoring and Evaluation at World Vision International in West Africa and has worked as a consultant for several international organizations in Europe and Africa.
Dr. Dhaker is also Associate Professor of Management at the University of Nouakchott and Nouakchott Business School, and a seasoned International speaker. He is actually board member of several regional and international initiatives especially in Africa. To name a few : Circle of Economists for Africa, Africa Fintech Forum, The Leaders Roundtable, the Africa Political Outlook, and Tod’Aers Global Network.
He holds various Master’s degrees in management science (University of Versailles), strategic management (HEC Paris), economics and international development (University of Paris XII), and international management (Georgetown University), and a PhD in Management Science, an MBA from Singapore Business School and a DBA in Economics and Finance. He earned also several executive certificates in Public Policy (Georgia State University), and Fintech and innovation (University of Cambridge)
